Pinterest

I know a few people that have blogged about this recently. I have a friend who was trying to get me to sign up for almost 2 months. She said she would spend more time on that site, than Facebook. I figured that since I very rarely have the chance to sit at my laptop much anymore anyway...(hence the total lack of attention to my blog)...that I should wait to sign up for another time consumer.

But, after I finished a few big summer projects I was working on (more on that later), I found out that Pinterest had an app for the iPhone. I don't have an iPhone, but, I do have an iTouch. That's literally the only way I can keep up with my email, facebook, etc these days. I don't have much free time to sit at the laptop, but, I can usually stay up to date with things on my iTouch pretty quickly.

So, I made an account. And, holy...crap. Are you signed up? I've only been on it a few days now and I'm already in love. If you haven't heard of it, it's basically a one-stop shop for all of your favorite things. I used to have a list of favorites on my web browers that was a mile long. Or, if I found pictures of  things I liked (party ideas, design stuff, crafts, etc)...I would just make a folder of pictures and save it on the computer.

But, with pinterest, you can save them all in one spot! It's a virtual bulletin board and you can create mulitple boards for different features (crafts, kids stuff, recipes, etc). It saves the thumbnail of the picture and when you click the picture, it takes you right back to the website you found it. LOVE!!!

How smart/cool is this? Put kids paint in Starbucks cups. That way it doesn't get as messy when they pull the brushes out!

Also, now I have the recipe saved for peanut putter play dough and edible finger paint!

So, thanks Elizabeth. I'm now addicted. But, just in time for fall and all the holidays coming up. I've already found so many cool things I want to do with Jacob and Noah and fun crafts for the holidays. I'm still learning how to "follow" people and what they're "pinning". Right now, I've only been able to figure out how to follow people that are from Facebook and have an account. How would I find someone that's not on Facebook? And...are you on Pinterest? If so...look for me so I can follow you! Ha. So cool.

Oh yeah, and I think it's invite only to get on. But, it's pretty easy to get invited. Let me know if you need me to send you one! :)
