One Month Old

A few days ago, our sweet boy Noah turned 1 month old!

It's so crazy how fast time is flying by. I feel like it's going even faster with two boys than it did just having one at home. Things are going really well with both boys at home. Of course there are a few moments in every day where I have to sit back and take several deep breaths and calm down. But really, overall, they are both doing great. Every day Jacob gets sweeter with his baby brother and tries to help out. He's really great at giving him kisses, replacing his paci when it falls out and he's fussing, bringing me things I need (burp cloths, diapers, etc) and cleaning up his own toys. It also has helped that Jacob is becoming a little more independent. He has his own independent play time during the day, he watches Mickey Mouse Clubhouse once or twice a day or reading books.

Noah is doing great. He's still very laid back and rarely gets fussy. Right now, on average, he's eating 10-13 times a day. I know....a lot. He's one hungry boy! During the day, he eats every 2 hours, sometimes a little sooner than 2 hours. At night, he eats about 3 or 4 times in the last few hours before I finally get in bed around 10 or 11pm. Then, he will usually sleep until about 4am. So, I'm thankful for that nice stretch of sleep. He's very alert. He opens his eyes so wide sometimes and loves to look around. Especially when he's looking out the window! I can already tell Noah will love to be outside just as much as his big brother. Yesterday, I went outside to go walking. Noah got cranky when I put him in his carseat...literally, the second I pushed the stroller outside and closed our front door - he was silent and just staring outside.

He's not as big of a fan of the swaddle as Jacob was. We still swaddle him at night, but, I can already tell he won't last as long as Jacob did with it. Partly because he's so big - he's super strong and can almost get out of it already! He loves to snuggle with anyone that is willing. Because of that, when he naps during the day - he actually prefers to lay on his stomach with his legs tucked under him...just like he would be on someone's shoulder.

We don't go back to the pediatrician until Noah is 2 months old so we don't have official Dr growth stats for him. But, by our at-home guesstimations - we think Noah is 23" (I know...crazy!!!) and almost 11lbs. BIG BOY!

Speaking of big boy, I'm doing the monthly growth pictures with Noah like we did with Jacob. For Noah, we debated for a while what object should be the constant in his pictures. We decided to go with the Mavs bear that Emily actually got for Jacob. Since, Noah has a sports theme and Jacob got it for becoming a big brother...we thought it fit well. Here's his 1 month shot!

But, just for fun...we'll also be taking month shots with Noah next to George. Noah has his own Curious George and we thought it would be fun to have these to compare both boys. In this, you can definitely see a big difference with how much bigger Noah is than Jacob was (understandably so, since Jacob was so early). Nevertheless, should be fun. Here's month 1 for Noah with George...then Jacob's 1 month shot.

Can't wait to see how much he has grown by month #2! Tomorrow we're headed to the FW zoo with my Mom and sister. I love being home with the boys during the summer when all of my sibling are around and we  can do so much with my family!! :)

Can't tell you how much I love those boys...and their parents of course!! Looking forward to the zoo tomorrow so that Jacob can share his love of dinosaurs and giraffes with his baby brother!

Glad to hear Noah is doing great. I can't believe how much he eats! And it's good to hear how Jacob interacts with him because when I have the next kid, they will be the same time apart as your kiddos.

Noah, you probably already know you have one of the worlds best moms. She takes such good care of all of her boys. Everyone always says how your such a handsome boy! It is amazing to watch you grow. Mom didn't say, but you are a toot factory! Sometimes while your eating you will toot, 10 - 15times, and I am not even exaggerating. We are so blessed that you joined our family.
