Time for a much-needed break!

Woo hoo!!! This is the BEST time of year to work at UTA! Yesterday was my last day.....until next year!! Our offices are closed for about a week and a half. We're open on Monday and Tuesday but I took both those days off. Soooo.....that means I get over 2 weeks!!! We have a lot planned for these 2 weeks, too.

On Monday my best friend Emily flys in town from Georgia for the week!! I can't wait to see her! Then of course all the Christmas festivites we have going on with both of my brothers in town, etc. Then Friday night my two cousins from VA, Cindy and Stacy are flying in town and staying with us. I'm so excited for them to get here - - it'll be their first visit to Texas! Even more exciting is the fact that Cindy just found out that she's pregnant!!! She and her husband have been trying for a while so I'm so thrilled that it happened for them and we'll get to see each other while we're both pregnant! She's not due until August, but hey, we'll still be pregnant together for a while! :)

Then the next day, Saturday, my aunt Jill is coming in town from VA and staying with my parents. We're so excited to have family coming down to see us for the holidays since we're not able to go up to VA this year. Greg has a basketball tournament that we'll go to see some of his games....he's been doing really well in college bball!

Yesterday our crib came in! My Dad, brother and I headed up to JCPenney and picked it up! Then, today Badi and I went to Home Depot and bought all the paint to paint Jacob's nursery!! Tomorrow the crew (parents, brothers, and Badi) will work on the nursery! We're going to paint everything and get the room ready before we put the crib together. Hopefully the colors we picked out will look good together!

Tomorrow while they're working on painting, I'm going to finish up wrapping some gifts. I'm just about done with shopping. Every time I think I'm done, I think of someone I forgot to buy for. Then I'll be ready for Emily to get here on Monday and that night we're having a mini-reunion dinner with several people from high school....so fun!

Lots to look forward to in the coming days....I'll keep you posted on all the nursery fun tomorrow!! Until then, I'll be enjoying myself until my next day of work on....January 5, 2009!!

Disney World is so magical!! :)

Disney World was so much fun! The conference wasn't too bad either! ;) I'm so thankful that I got to go with so many friends from work...we all had a great time! We arrived in Orlando late Sunday night, checked into the hotel and headed over to the Wilderness Lodge for dinner. It was so pretty inside, reminded me of a gorgeous Colorado cabin. In the middle of the hotel was the amazing Christmas tree (which we saw a lot of these in Disney while there).

Here's some of our group after dinner. Poor Nikki and Julia had a terrible layover and didn't get into Orlando until late that night.

After dinner we had to take a boat back to our hotel. Ummm..it was about 11pm and about 40 degrees!!! It was freakin freezing! We hadn't gotten our luggage yet from the airport so we were all freeeeeeeezing and trying to cuddle for warmth on the 20 minute boat ride back!

The next morning the conference began with a few good sessions and a REALLY good lunch! Haha. Disney has the best culinary people come in to be their chefs!

After lunch we had this:

I mean seriously...how good does that look??? And...strawberry shortcake of all things...uh, one of my favs! SO GOOD! :)

After lunch we had one other session to attend, then the conference ended early so we bought "after 2pm" tickets and headed on the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom!!

We had such a blast exploring the whole park. I, surprisingly, still got to ride several things because there are so many kid-oriented rides. Although, I did have to skip out on my favorite rides (Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain). However, everything about the day was so much fun! We saw a few great shows (Disney's Phillhar Magic was my favorite..we even did it twice!), ate some yummy food (I even got a DEEEELICIOUS funnel cake), saw lots of characters walking around, and as the sun set we saw the parade and a great fireworks show. Such a fun day!!!

Thunder Mountain!

The entire park was decorated so beautifully for Christmas!!

Cinderella and Prince Charming during the parade!!

Minnie Mouse!!

Another beautiful tree!! :)

A few of my favorite shots from the fireworks show! :)

It's a small world!! :)

Viva la Mexico!! :)

Here we are with our 3D glasses before heading into Phillhar Magic...for the 2nd time! :)

Is this not so beautiful!?!? Late at night they added the icing effect to the castle....

One of my favorites....Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse in front of the castle!! :)

In front of our hotel, another tree with Space Mountain in the background!

Tuesday night we went to Animal Kingdom for the conference gala. Dinner was great!

After we ate, they had African acrobats...so cool!

Uhhhh...this hurt my back just watching him do this!

So after the acrobats, we danced the night away. This had to be one of the best DJs I've ever heard. He was so entertaining and fun! Played great music...we had a blast! I danced so much that night, I was really feeling sore the next day....

During Shakira's "Hips don't lie", the DJ was dancing with this doll, haha. I took a picture and he posed when he saw the camera. :)

Goodbye Disney World....we had a blast!!! :)

Disney World or Bust!!

Yayyyy....I leave for Disney World today! One of the annual conferences I go to for work is being held in Orlando this year. How exciting! I absolutely love Disney World. I'm such a kid at heart. I've always loved Disney movies, Disney songs, etc. I'm a dork. Even better news, I'm going to the conference with 4 good friends from work and several other good friends that work at other universities. What's better than that?!?! We're even staying on site at the Disney Contemporary Resort!!

We were lucky enough to go to Disney World with my family a few times growing up. So now, I can take baby Jacob for his first time! Ha. We'll definitely be coming back once he gets older and can remember things. Badi's never been to Disney World so that's a vacation we're definitely looking forward to in the years to come!! :)

The conference should be good but we've also got a few other things on our busy agenda. We're even headed to Magic Kingdom on Monday!! The conference ends early so we all bought the after 2pm tickets and we'll be there all night. It's all decorated for Christmas and looks amazing!!! One of the other things we'll get to check out is Gloria Estefan's restaurant in Downtown Disney, Bongos! We have a lot of things to try and squeeze in during the short time we're there. I return home on Wednesday night but I'll be sure to take lots of pictures while we're there.

Now, it's time to pack as I've successfully procrastinated as long as possible. Have a great week, everyone! :)

Baby Villagomez's Name....Revealed! :)

Well yesterday was my 6 month appointment and everything looks healthy and great! Our little boy is growing like a champ and moving around ALL the time. Yes, I feel him.....a lot! :)

Originally, we had planned on trying to keep the baby's name a secret. We thought it might be nice to have that as a surprise when the baby was born. Well....it's a lot harder than we thought! Haha. We've had the name picked out for a while and Badi and I noticed ourselves calling him by his name more and more! We decided we better start telling our family and friends before we slipped up one day and accidently revealed it!

Without further adieu, his name will be.....

Jacob Behmard Villagomez

We tried to incorporate several things when we picked the name. Before looking through some baby books, I didn't know this but Jacob is actually a variation of James (which obviously is my Dad's name.) We also liked that it's a strong Biblical name. Secondly, JBV are Badi's Dad's initials. Third, Jacob's middle name (Behmard) was Badi's grandfather's name who passed away last year. Badi and his grandfather were extremely close. Behmard also means "best man". Lastly, we wanted an American first name, Persian middle name, and obviously Hispanic last name because those are the 3 parts that make up baby Jacob! :)

So there you have it! It's hard to believe I'm already 6 months pregnant. Baby Jake will be here before we know it!

Thank you all for your continued love, support, and prayers!

Mavs Fan For Life!

As most know, I LOVE sports!! :) For the last few years my parents have had season tickets to the Dallas Mavericks. This year, they chose not to renew their seats because of several reasons. One big one being that Greg was leaving for college and playing basketball. Therefore, my parents knew they would try to drive down for as many games as possible. With that, it would have been a waste of money not being able to go to all the games they play.
Anyway, we're very lucky that my Dad knows a lot of people that DO have season tickets still. One of his friends even has 2 courtside seats!!!! Right before Thanksgiving, he got the 2 seats and asked if he could take his eldest daughter and his grandson to the Mavs game. Uh....heck yes! Being super close, I got some really awesome pictures from the game. AND...the Mavs won...even better!! :)

Warming up before the game!

DIIIIRK!

Dampier, Barea, Bass, and Kidd!

Jason Terry!

Our camera has a really great zoom. I zoomed in all the way on the other side of the court and got a picture of Mark Cuban!! Second row, middle seat, blue Mavs shirt!

Does anyone else think Rick Carlisle looks like Jim Carrey?! :)

Dad and I!!! :)

Thanks for letting me go with you Dad! That was a lot of fun! Even if the guy sitting next to you had the absolute worst breath known to man. Whew!! Poor guy. Scratch that...poor us for having to smell that funk all night!! :)

Lots of new baby items to fill up the nursery!! :)

Geez, I've been so bad about posting lately....sorry! I didn't even realize just how long it had been since I had posted anything until I saw my blog today! Ack! So sorry! Time has really been flying by lately!! So much has happened....so much to blog about...so little time! Ha.

I just wanted to quickly post some pictures of some recent purchases we've made for Baby Villagomez! So about a month ago, I started searching for bedding for the crib. Oh....my....gosh! There is SOOO much to choose from! I spent about 2 hours going through ALL the boy bedding at BabiesRUs online. I narrowed them down to about 20 that I liked. Badi then narrowed it down to about 2. I, then, searched for those online through other baby websites to see if we could find it any cheaper. We could have put the bedding on our registry, but it was pretty expensive for everything...so I just wanted to see if I could find it anywhere else for cheaper.

We knew we really wanted a jungle-themed nursery. Badi really likes monkeys and I loved the idea of having the nursery covered in cute animals. While looking at one particular website, I found a new bedding set that I LOVED! I showed it to Badi and we had to have it! It was about half the price from BabiesRUs sets, too! Since it was only about $140 for everything, we were about ready to get out our credit card and make the purchase! Then, Badi said "hang on, let's just check Ebay and see if it happens to be on there." So he did...and sure enough, it was on there......for even cheaper than the cheap website! Haha. So we waited until the last day of the bid....and with about 3 minutes left, I placed a bid and we won it. The whole set......for $61!!!!!! I'm still amazed at the deal he found and so in love with this bedding set. Hopefully Baby V likes it, too!! :)

Here it is! Our set includes: comforter, dust ruffle, fitted sheet, the window valance, the mobile, and the diaper stacker! Yay! And...this is exactly how we were planning on painting his room...khaki on top and blue on bottom! I took it as a sign that this was for sure the bedding when I saw this picture! :)

In addition to the bedding (which we got in the mail last week and I LOVE), we FINALLY got his crib!!!! We've seriously been looking everywhere for the last month or more for one that we like and wasn't ridiculously overpriced. I happen to check online at JCPenney yesterday to see if they had any good Cyber Monday sales. Sure enough, a lot of cribs were on sale...and I found 2 I really loved. I sent them to Badi and last night we purchased it online. It's backordered until the end of the month, but I can't wait to get it! It's being shipped to the store, then we'll just pick it up and bring it home.

Here's the crib we bought in a "chocolate mist" color:

In addition to the crib, we bought the matching dresser/changer:

Yay....so exciting that it's finally all coming together!!!!

PS- In other news...we have his name picked out!!! We were really going to try and wait to tell every one until he was born....buuuuut, that didn't really work out. I'll reveal the name to everyone after my 6 month appointment on Thursday...so we can triple-check that it's really a boy in there. I know it is...we all do, but just wanted to wait until after that...then you will all know! Yayyyyy!! :)

Oh yeah...and my aunt Nancy had requested that I post what the grandparents wanted to be called by Baby V. Well, for Badi's parents..there's already 2 grandsons. They both had names picked out for themselves, but when Paul started talking, he dubbed them to be BB (Badi's dad) and LuLu (Badi's mom). We figure Baby V will just go with those names as well so there's not a bunch of different names from all of their grandkids. :)

As far as my parents go, this is their first grandbaby! My mom would like to go by Mimi. My Dad will probably go with Pop. Actually he likes Pop(s)...because apparently everyone will think he's soda if he goes by "pop". Who knows...but I like them either way. So many exciting things going on right now. I'll post again, hopefully tomorrow, on other recent events!
